How do I qualify for the Champs?

To qualify for our local YMCA championships held every season for the Hampton Roads YMCA league it is mandatory that every swimmer 12 and Under compete in AT LEAST 3 meets.  For 13 and up, due to high school, the requirement drops to two meets.

Typically, the times needed to attend this meet are B standard times found on the virginiaswimming.org website in the times section (top 16 motivational time standards).

To attend the USRY regional meet held annually in Cary, NC the swimmer MUST attend 3 regular YMCA meets no matter the age.  Typically, these swimmers must attain BB+ time standards in at least 2 events to attend this meet.  Those time standards are also found on virginiaswimming.org.

Past these meets, to qualify for YMCA Nationals, well…you need to meet the time standards.  And when a swimmer nears that precipice, I’ll let them know.
